M.H. Sutton retired on 01 Aug 2020 (during season 42) aged 37.

Formed part of two of the most dominant opening partnerships in the Ducklings history, firstly with Hooper, and then Warden. After a good start to his career with the Ducklings after joining mid-way through season 27 he found himself much the junior partner to Hooper, scoring briskly but only managing one 1000 run season in the first 6 (compared with Hooper's 5) and 10 centuries (to Hooper's 24). In Hooper's final year he recovered from another iffy season in FC cricket by hitting a three back to back tons in the final three rounds (season 33), finally passing 1000 in a season for the second time (for the club). He continued his form into season 34, now batting with new club-captain Warden, with another ton in each of the first two matches, passing 500 runs in the third and reaching 822 by the half way stage. He finished with 1,325, his best return in a season for the Ducklings helping them reach Tier 1. He carried this form on in the top Tier with 1828 @70.31, an incredible return, his highest ever and the second best in history for the Ducklings (and one of the best ever). The season after was something of a come-down, with 800 fewer runs at an average just over half that of his incredible returns previously. Unsurprisingly the Ducklings were relegated for his final season. After a solid start in his final season, where he had 201 runs at an average a shade over 40 in the first three rounds, he hit his maiden score of 250+ (272) in round 4. He ended up producing his 3rd best ever season for the Ducklings, finishing 2nd in the team's run scoring charts behind Jain as the Ducklings returned to the top flight as champions.

His OD numbers are similarly impressive, as he is one of 4 players to have scored 10,000+ runs in both formats, although his tier 1 record relative to his career record is much more along the lines you would have expected (relative to his FC numbers).

All in all, performed very well for the club helping elevate it from encouraging young side to top tier regular.
